PowerBank Advances 2.6 MW Solar Project in Upstate New York

PowerBank Corporation announced the development of a 2.6 MW ground-mount solar power project in Upstate New York, known as the Elmira project. The project has secured necessary municipal approvals, including site plan approval and a special use permit, and has received a negative declaration under the State environmental quality review act. Subject to financing, construction is expected to begin before the end of the calendar year. The project is anticipated to be eligible for incentives under the NYSERDA NY-Sun Program. Once completed, the project will operate as a community solar project, providing clean energy to the local grid and offering cost savings to subscribers. PowerBank, with over 100 MW of completed projects and a development pipeline exceeding 1 GW, is well-positioned to execute this project. The Elmira project supports New York’s goal of achieving 6 GW of solar capacity by 2025.
