Power of Attorney for Amanpal S. Bhutani

Amanpal S. Bhutani, a director of The New York Times Company, has granted a Power of Attorney to Diane Brayton, Michael A. Brown, Elah Lanis, and Amanda Schwarzenbart. This authorization allows them to execute and file Forms ID, 3, 4, and 5, and amendments thereto, on his behalf in accordance with Section 16(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The attorneys-in-fact are also empowered to manage Bhutani's EDGAR account, including appointing and removing account administrators, maintaining account security, and certifying the accuracy of account information. The Power of Attorney remains in effect until Bhutani is no longer required to file these forms, unless revoked earlier in writing.
