Community Health Systems Announces Sale of 80% Stake in Clarksville Joint Ventures
Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS) has entered into a Purchase Agreement to sell its 80% ownership interest in two joint ventures, Clarksville Health System, G.P. and Clarksville Physician Services, G.P., to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) for $600 million. The joint ventures own and operate Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville and related ancillary businesses in Clarksville, Tennessee. The transaction is expected to close in early 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The Purchase Agreement includes various representations, warranties, and covenants, as well as provisions for indemnification and ancillary agreements such as transition services agreements. CHS issued a press release announcing the agreement on October 30, 2025.
