Power of Attorney for Section 16 Reporting by Ian Fitzgerald of Ares Capital Corp

Ian Fitzgerald, General Counsel, Vice President, and Secretary of Ares Capital Corporation (ARCC), has executed a Limited Power of Attorney. This document appoints Anton Feingold, Lisa Morgan, Naseem Sagati Aghili, and Monica J. Shilling as his attorneys-in-fact for the purpose of filing Forms 3, 4, and 5 with the SEC, as required under Section 16(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The attorneys-in-fact are authorized to act on Fitzgerald's behalf to prepare, complete, and execute these forms, as well as to seek information on transactions in the company's securities from third parties. The Power of Attorney remains in effect until Fitzgerald is no longer required to file these forms, unless revoked earlier.
