NOVONIX and ACP Technologies Partner on Anode Materials

NOVONIX Limited has announced a strategic partnership with ACP Technologies, LLC (ACPT) through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen the domestic supply chain for anode materials in the North American battery industry. This collaboration aims to expand NOVONIX's product portfolio by offering a domestically produced pitch-coated synthetic graphite anode active material (AAM), which is crucial for demanding applications like military drones and enhancing fast-charging capabilities. ACPT, a US-based company, possesses proprietary processes for converting petroleum-derived feedstocks into high-value pitch material, a critical input for battery manufacturing. The partnership will focus on collaborative projects for synthetic graphite AAM, mass production process development, and proprietary technology advancement. Both companies believe this collaboration will accelerate the development and commercialization of a competitive North American supply chain for battery-grade graphite. The MOU is non-binding, and further definitive agreements are to be negotiated. This initiative is seen as essential for scaling NOVONIX's U.S. manufacturing footprint and strengthening the U.S. supply chain for critical battery materials.
