NeuroSense Therapeutics Receives Japanese Patent Grant for ALS Candidate PrimeC

On June 9, 2026, NeuroSense Therapeutics Ltd. (NASDAQ: NRSN) announced that the Japan Patent Office has granted Japanese Patent 7857044 for its lead drug candidate, PrimeC, intended for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The patent, titled “Compositions comprising ciprofloxacin and celecoxib,” covers PrimeC’s unique formulation and manufacturing process, including its synchronized extended-release delivery profile. This intellectual property protection is expected to extend through 2042, following similar patent grants in the United States, Australia, and Brazil. PrimeC is a novel oral therapy designed to target multiple mechanisms of ALS progression, including neuroinflammation and iron dysregulation. The drug previously demonstrated clinical and survival benefits in the Phase 2b PARADIGM study. NeuroSense has received FDA clearance to proceed with a pivotal Phase 3 study (PARAGON), which is expected to enroll approximately 300 participants.
