SEC Filing Summary for MFS Intermediate Income Trust
Sit Investment Associates Inc. and Sit Fixed Income Advisors II LLC, collectively known as the Sit Entities, have reported a 25.2% ownership in MFS Intermediate Income Trust (MIN). The Sit Entities acquired these shares through open market transactions on behalf of their clients. They have expressed opposition to a proposed plan of reorganization wherein MIN and other funds would merge into MFS Multimarket Income Trust (MMT). The Sit Entities argue that the Acquiring Fund (MMT) has a significantly different and riskier investment strategy, particularly its potential to invest in junk bonds, compared to MIN's requirement to invest in high-quality securities. They believe this reorganization is not in the best interest of MIN shareholders and have communicated their opposition to the Board of Trustees. The Sit Entities may also consider nominating individuals for the Board of Trustees.
