ING Groep N.V. Appoints Hilde Garssen as Chief Human Resources Officer to Management Board

ING Groep N.V. announced the appointment of Hilde Garssen as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to its Management Board Banking, effective September 1, 2026. Garssen, currently Chief People Officer and Board of Management member at KPN, will succeed Ruth McGill who left ING in November 2025. The appointment reflects ING's strategic focus on elevating the importance of people and culture as the company aims to become the best European bank through accelerated growth, increased impact, and value delivery. Garssen brings over 25 years of experience in banking and telecommunications sectors, having previously held CHRO roles at KPN and ABN AMRO. The appointment has been approved by the European Central Bank.
