Avalo Therapeutics Announces AVTX-010 Pipeline Expansion and 1H 2027 IND Submission Goal
On June 16, 2026, Avalo Therapeutics announced the advancement of AVTX-010, a long-acting next-generation anti-IL-1Ξ² monoclonal antibody (mAb) intended for the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and other inflammatory disorders. AVTX-010 is an engineered follow-on to the company's lead asset, abdakibart, designed for extended dosing intervals to improve patient adherence. The company plans to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for AVTX-010 in the first half of 2027. Concurrently, Avalo provided updates on abdakibart following positive Phase 2 LOTUS data in moderate-to-severe HS, which demonstrated significant efficacy in HiSCR75 and HiSCR50 endpoints. The company expects to initiate a Phase 3 registrational program for abdakibart in 1H 2027. Following a $431.3 million financing in May 2026, Avalo reports a cash runway extending into 2029, which is expected to fund operations through the anticipated Phase 3 topline data for abdakibart.
